I have been a nurse for 22 years in a variety of forms of nursing, including Interventional Radiology, Medical- Surgical, Critical Care, Research, Quality Improvement, and currently Audit and Appeals. I became a Certified Radiology Nurse and specialized for 13 years in Interventional and Neuro-Interventional Radiology at Centura Health in Denver and at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Let’s also throw in there 5 years of working as a fitness instructor at the rec centers in Littleton Colorado, that was just for fun.
I love to travel, experience different cultures, and try new foods. I am never happier than when I have my hiking boots on going up a mountain path. My current count of countries visited is 27. I love to read and think that the library is the coolest hang-out in town.
My current position as an Appeals Coordinator in Cedar Rapids, Iowa requires me to evaluate denied insurance claims and determine if an appeal of a claim is appropriate utilizing my clinical knowledge and understanding of ICD-10 coding. All appeals must be researched using trusted, evidence-based resources. This current job and my experience in Quality Improvement Nursing has formed my strong background in research, analysis, and communication in written form. I would love to use my experience in nursing and my passion for writing to help you create the medical content you are looking for.
